Charles McMicken Society
Created in 1972, the Charles McMicken Society recognizes and honors the University of Cincinnati's most important donors.
McMicken donors generate the most significant block of private, individual support received by the University each year. The Society is dedicated to UC's goal of providing exceptional educational opportunities to the men and women who work toward their futures at UC.
The McMicken Society recognizes donors based upon their UC support within two distinct giving categories:
- Annual Giving of $1,000 and more
- Cumulative Giving (lifetime) of $100,000 or more
Levels of giving
The Charles McMicken Society recognizes individuals or couples who give $1,000 or more annually to any part of the University (through single or multiple gifts) and individuals or couples with certain levels of cumulative giving.
Annual giving
Three donor levels recognize the legacy of generous commitment started in 1858 by Charles McMicken:

Matching gift dollars may be used to achieve Charles McMicken Society status.
Cumulative giving
Individuals or couples whose cumulative giving exceeds $100,000 are honored by the McMicken Society for their lifetime commitment.

Recognition and Privileges
Donors at all McMicken giving levels receive the following membership benefits:
- Three hours of free campus parking
- UC Library privileges
- 10 percent discount at all UC Bookstores
- Recognition in the annual UC Honor Roll of Donors
- Invitations to special events throughout the year
- Complimentary classes at UC's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
Donors at the level of "Founder" and above also receive:
- Names listed prominently on UC Donor Wall
"Life Founder" donors also receive:
- Annual recognition dinner at the University of Cincinnati
- Special gift of appreciation
Recognition for Life Benefactors and Life Founders are afforded for their lifetimes. Circle of Honor Benefactors are recognized in perpetuity. Life Benefactors and Circle of Honor Benefactors also receive lifetime, free campus parking privileges.
